Photographer captures Hilbre as part of project

An aspiring landscape photographer has photographed Hilbre Island as part of a project featuring other islands off the north west coast.

Photography degree student Mikey Boardman has shot Hilbre Island along with Ynys Llanddwyn off the coast of Anglesey and Piel Island in Cumbria.

Commenting (that link includes photos of the islands) on his project Boardman says: “I found that only a short journey from the suburban environment can give a sense of travelling to a far-off, remote destination. The surrounding water inflicts a complete sense of isolation, yet still a form of escapism, which I embraced.”
